Weekend Recipe | Royal Side Car Cocktail

We have fully flung ourselves into the deep end of ‘Christmas’ this week at edition HQ; the office tree is up (tinsel everywhere, we’re not decoration snobs here), the chocolates are in plentiful supply, and today is the day of our Christmas party. We’re looking forward to keeping things classy with dinner and a few drinks; and what could be classier that a Royal Side Car? An icon of cognac cocktails, the first version was created at Ritz Paris in 1923, and is said to have been named after a motorcycle side car owned by a gentleman in Paris. The drink was later popularised in London; a true tale of two cities. Pair with your best outfit and a healthy helping of Christmas spirit.

Ingredients
35ml Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal
30ml Cointreau
15ml lemon juice

Method
Shake the cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice with ice and then strain into a coupe glass
