Every month, fashion editor, blogger and stylist Carly Stevens shares her favourite outfit of the moment

Every summer, the perennial white trend returns but, unless you live in a bubble, sadly the daily grind doesn’t really allow for it (it’s an even less likely option for me these days, living with a toddler). However, on holiday it’s a different matter – it would seem that wearing white is a pre-requisite of going abroad and, let’s be honest, it perfectly complements a golden tan!

This dress by Pampelone is the first item to go in my suitcase. The brand was inspired by the effortlessly glamorous women in St Tropez, which is wholly appropriate given my family and I are off to the South of France this summer. Off-the-shoulder, fitted on the waist and featuring beautiful floral embroidery, the light and flowing dress is made from the softest cotton.

In the past, the combination of heat and uneven ground in sunnier climes has caused me no end of foot injuries, so I’m very much a flats girl when on holiday. These leather sandals with a subtle  sparkle from Dune will dress up any outfit and are a cunning way to emphasise a tan, too.

If you only get on board with one bag trend this holiday season, make it the basket one. Giving Mary Poppins a run for her money, it’s the ultimate carry-all and this Accessorize woven number will be useful for days out when I take everything but the kitchen sink with me!
