Tara Stedman reveals her favourite places to dine, visit and shop in and around Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire…

Home is…
I live in Chalfont St Giles with my husband and our 15-year-old son. We have lived here for four years, having moved from Gerrards Cross.

Work is…
I am the owner of Café Wellbeing Anti-Ageing & Wellness Clinic in Chalfont St Giles, and I specialise in treating skin conditions, such as ageing and acne. I offer bespoke Environ or Aromatherapy facials to suit every client’s needs, and I am also fully qualified in recommending nutrition plans and supplements to feed the skin from within, to ensure my clients get the very best results. I am a fully qualified Holistic Therapist and my treatments include Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Reiki healing. I always offer free consultations to enable me to get the best results with each of my clients.

Favourite place to spend a relaxing Sunday…
Sunday is usually my only day to relax, so I try to make time for myself to read, do yoga or go for long walks. We often walk from our house, down to the village and through the fields along the river in the Misbourne Valley until we reach Chalfont St Peter, before enjoying a well-deserved breakfast In Gerrards Cross. I also love to cook a big Sunday roast.

Favourite place for a special meal…
For an Indian, it has to be Maliks in Gerrards Cross – I love their Tandoori Prawn. We’ll go for a drink first at Jack & Alice, a lovely wine bar on Packhorse Road. My favourite Italian restaurant locally is La Rucola in Little Chalfont (I love their fresh fish) and my favourite pubs are The Ivy House and Merlin’s Cave in Chalfont St Giles, which serve good food, too!

Favourite place for brunch with friends…
Côte Brasserie in Old Amersham, which has great food and a nice atmosphere. I really enjoy their vegetarian breakfast as it’s so fresh, and their salads are also very tasty.

Favourite place for some retail therapy…
I love to go to Old Amersham as there are some lovely boutiques and coffee shops. The Grocer on the High Street in Old Amersham is part-deli, part-kitchen, and they do great coffee and home-made cakes.

Favourite romantic spot…
Cliveden House in Taplow because we got married there! We love to stand on the upper terrace of the manor house and look over the gardens as we had our wedding photos taken there, so it has very special memories.

Favourite local discovery…
On a recent walk in the grounds of Vache Manor in Chalfont St Giles, we discovered a little-known memorial to the famous explorer Captain James Cook. It’s surrounded by a moat and can be entered via a small wooden bridge.

Favourite spot for a family day out…
We like to go for a bite to eat at Luna Rossa in Gerrards Cross as it’s a great family restaurant with wonderful Italian food, before a trip to the Everyman Cinema.
