Home is…
Radlett has been home for the past eight years. My office is also here, on Aldenham Road.

I work as a garden designer across London and the South East, travelling far and wide to create beautiful outdoor spaces and pretty gardens.I regularly exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and, when I’m not designing or building gardens, I’m writing garden features for a wide range of national and regional publications. I have spent some time as an innovation mentor for the RHS, helping several nurseries exhibiting at the RHS Flower Shows to create visually appealing floral displays and, this year, I’ll be building a Garden called City Living to promote the Greening Grey Britain campaign – a cause close to my heart.

Favourite place to spend a relaxing Sunday…
Given a warm spring day and time to spend in the garden, then this is my favourite place. If I can follow this with lunch with friends (The White Horse in Shenley is a favourite) and a walk in the sunshine, then I’m happy.

Most memorable meal I’ve had locally…
The Bull Pen in Battlers Green Farm on Common Lane is lovely in the summer. I love sitting outside and enjoying lunch, followed by their locally renowned pavlova. The café can be a little pricey but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and the food. It’s also best to visit early in the day as it gets busy.

Building I’d most like to live in…
Something small, old and with space for a vegetable garden!

Favourite place for a night out with friends…
The Radlett Centre on Aldenham Avenue is always worth checking out, as it has some really high quality acts and tribute bands on the schedule. The Billy Joel tribute band that performed there recently were excellent! You can arrive early and have a drink in the bar before the band begins, so it’s an easy choice for an evening out.

Favourite spot for some retail therapy…
Battlers Green Farm is a great place to shop; their stores include an organic butchers, Spice Way and Sugar to Tea. Osprey London is also a firm favourite. Blacks of Sopwell have opened a shop there this year as well, which is worth checking out, as it carries a superb range of hand-crafted furniture and accessories.

Favourite local discovery…
Redbournbury Watermill and Bakery is great. It’s tucked down a little track and the walks around there are lovely, too.

Favourite place to soak up some culture…
I am in London so regularly that visiting museums and art galleries can be done in small doses between appointments or at the end of the day. Dipping in and out of exhibitions works for me and I will often re-visit shows that have grabbed my attention.
